About Us

I don't know about you but I hate it when you click on a companies About Us page and are presented with loads of corporate rubbish. 

So, although this page will tell you what we 'do' it will also tell you a bit more about who we 'are'. 

John doesn't usually look this clean cut and James doesn't always look this shocked and serious.

We have been friends for a decade and business partners for 3 years. 

John manages the restoration side of Plywood and Teak and ensures that every item leaves us in as good as, if not better, condition than the listing description.

He loves all things vintage and mid-century, including 1950 Minis.

James is the son of antique dealers. And has a keen eye for buying and selling. His approach is simple - buy the things he loves, and that inspire him, and hope that there's a buyer out there that feels the same way.

All of our mid century furniture is sensitively restored. 

Take these Nathans of Newbury chairs as an example. The wood was striped, cleaned and the re oiled using the best quality superior teak oil. 

Each chair was then waxed with high quality bees wax before having the foam replaced in the seat and back and being reupholstered using a quality black vinyl.

We carry a lot of stock but if we don't see what you want then drop us a line and we'll find it for you.

We design and build a range of vintage inspired modern plywood furniture.

Take these birch plywood picture shelves that were made for a corporate client. 

Each one-metre-long shelf has an LED light countersunk underneath. 

The shelves were built to the clients exact sizes and specifications and we used the highest grade birch plywood available.

This is one of our latest product ranges.

Preserved moss is combined with a genuine Victorian hand-cast terracotta plant pot to create this beautiful indoor plant.

It's the perfect blend of new and old and will complement any interior design scheme.

The moss is real but has been recently preserved so it will not grow. You don't even need to worry about watering and pruning.

The moss is incredibly soft, maintenance-free, and looks beautiful.

It absorbs the moisture from the air which makes it soft.

It will perfectly suit your lounge, bedroom, kitchen or even bathroom, bringing a bit of nature into your home. Perfect as a gift or present or to treat yourself.

They look great as singular items and awesome when grouped to make a larger table display.

Each pot is unique, they are handmade and date from somewhere between 1837 and 1901 - it's amazing to think you can give a new life to a Victorian item that is over 100 years old.
